« Pourquoi vous ai-je conté cette vieille histoire ? Peut-être parce qu’une fois déjà, nous avons frôlé la catastrophe, et avons presque perdu nos oiseaux. Et nous sommes en train de recommencer. Hier, Tamon nous a permis de les retrouver, mais demain ? Nous n’y parviendrons peut-être pas. Nous leur volons leurs forêts, leurs nourritures, nous répandons mille poisons dans le sol et dans l’air. Nous dévastons les terres, nous les écorchons, nous coupons les arbres. Nous devons réfléchir à ce que nous infligeons à notre petite planète, à sa délicate atmosphère, cette minuscule couche de terre, d’eau, d’oxygène. Et changer, vite changer, pour toujours entendre des chants d’oiseaux, si beaux et si précieux… »
