In memoriam D. Chostakovitch – piano

I wrote this work under the impulse of having discovered what his life was like in the context of the environment of his time: everything he had to endure, but he held on: art and music won! Through him it is also a tribute to all the artists around the world who had to and still have to fight for their independence of thought, a symbol of the freedom of every man or woman who finds themselves in the same conditions.

Душа Всегда Возвращается В край, Где она родилась, — И никто на свете Не сможет её удержать. Сквозь ячеи Самой прочной сети Она ускользнет; Вечная свобода Унесет её вдаль.
J’ai écrit cette oeuvre sous l’impulsion d’avoir decouvert quelle vie fut la sienne au regard de l’environnement de son époque : tout ce qu’il a dû endurer, mais il a tenu bon: l’art et la musique l’ont emporté! A travers lui c’est aussi un hommage à tous les artistes du monde entier qui ont dû et doivent encore livrer bataille pour leur indépendance de pensée, symbole de la liberté de chaque homme ou femme qui se trouve dans les mêmes conditions.
Я написал эту работу под впечатлением от того, как открыл для себя его жизнь в контексте эпохи: всё, что ему пришлось пережить, — и всё же он устоял; искусство и музыка победили! В его лице я также отдаю дань уважения всем художникам мира, которым приходилось и до сих пор приходится бороться за независимость мышления, — это символ свободы каждого человека, оказавшегося в подобных условиях.
