L’alliage des deux instruments, clarinette et marimba a rapidement évoqué pour moi un monde souterrain d’enchevêtrements, de bouillonnements ou le percussionniste aurait la sensation de jouer des orgues en pierre d’une grotte préhistorique et où le clarinettiste déambulerait dans un long corridor souterrain qui prolongerait les vibrations de son instrument. Cette musique est une tentative de traduire le passage du bigbang initial parcouru de milles feux à la clarté apaisée des éléments qui en sont sortis. Le chaos après maintes résurgences finira par se cristalliser et laisser place à l’harmonie. C’est le solo médian de la clarinette basse qui est à la source de cet univers où la vie est possible, la vie qui se manifeste ici dans le premier souffle de l’homme. Le titre vient à la fin de l’oeuvre car c’est seulement une fois que les éléments ont été créés que l’on peut les nommer: « Et ce fut le sixième jour ».

The mix of the two instruments, clarinet and marimba has quickly evoked to me an underground world of criss-crosses and gushes where the percussionist would have the sensation of playing stone organs of a prehistoric cave and where the clarinetist would stroll through a long underground corridor which would prolong the vibrations of the instrument. This music is an attempt to translate the transition of the original big bang traveled by thousands of fires to the calming clarity of elements that came out of it. The chaos after many outbreaks will crystallize and give way to harmony. It’s the median solo of the bass clarinet which is the source of this universe where life is possible, the life that manifests itself here in the first breath of the man. The title comes at the end of the work because it is only once the elements have been created that we can name them: « And that was the sixth day. »
