At the beginning we heard the sound of the sea which seems to bring the song.

Observe where the manger is placed: at the center of the poem, that is where the author wanted to place it; a little as if this simple wooden object were the humble but warm heart where the Christ child will rest for a time. How can we not think of the small table in Massenet’s Manon or Colline’s coat in Puccini’s La Bohème: to each is dedicated nothing less than an air so sober and yet so moving…

Observez où est placé « praesepio » la mangeoire: au centre du poème, c’est là que l’auteur a voulu le placer ; un peu comme si ce simple objet de bois en était le cœur humble mais chaleureux où reposera un temps le Christ enfant. Comment ne pas penser à la petite table dans Manon de Massenet ou au manteau de Colline dans La Bohème de Puccini : à chacun est dédié rien de moins qu’un air si sobre et cependant si émouvant…
