The sounds of the bassoon lend themselves particularly well to evoking Jimbo the elephant, his gait, with a touch of humor.
Dedicated to his daughter Claude-Emma, this is a tribute or a nod to Jimbo (or Jumbo), who lived to the age of 24 from 1861 to 1885, born in the savannas of Abyssinia, as Ethiopia was then known.
